Green Advantage® Certification

To construct buildings across the globe that support social and economic sustainability. That's the mission behind the Green Advantage certification. The organization evolved from what was once the EcoVillage Institute, an EPA grant winner solicited to develop a training and certification program for building professionals.

Green Advantage is like the Energy Star rating system of building professionals (though not a government institution). Green Advantage develops certification programs, benefits and services for organizations and practitioners in the building sector. Certified contractors have shown extensive knowledge and experience in energy-efficient building design and/or construction, which in turn offers a benchmark for conscious homeowners to select green building professionals.

Energy efficient building is increasingly more cost-competitive with conventional products and building practices. In addition, home and businesses built by Green Advantage-certified professionals enjoy lower energy bills, water bills, and maintenance needs, as well as greater homeowner satisfaction. Those, of course, are only the personal benefits. Greater benefits include a healthier and more sustainable environment. You'll find more information below on Green Advantage certification, as well as certified professionals in your area.
