Well, all that's becoming a thing of the past. Insulated garage doors do exist, and in some cases, insulation can even be retrofitted. If the door has windows, check the heat gain coefficient. Perhaps the best part of insulating or upgrading your garage doors is the qualifying tax credit (up to $1,500) if you live in the US. Those are pretty significant savings. To qualify for the credit, the door must have a life expectancy of at least five years.
