CushionWalk Pavers
Bring the softer side of eco-friendly building materials to your patio, walkway or landscape with DINOFLEX CushionWalk pavers. As the name implies, CushionWalk recycled rubber pavers are especially shock-absorbent, as well as slip-resistant, low-maintenance, water-permeable and noise-reducing.
CushionWalk products are available as interlocking or non-interlocking pavers in a smooth or brick design. Their greatest functional advantages lie in safety and comfort. Being permeable, slip-resistant and impact-absorbing, CushionWalk pavers are especially safe for golf courses, outdoor patios and anywhere children are playing. They're also soft underfoot and thus healthier and less annoying to walk on.
CushionWalk pavers' greenest advantage lies in the tires they're made from. As a recycled rubber product, they are a shining example of recycling and adaptive reuse. CushionWalk pavers and all DINOFLEX products contribute to LEED credits, including the urethane adhesives used to install the pavers.
CushionWalk, whether interlocking or not, come in 2' x 2' units (interlocking are actually slightly larger) and are 3/4" thick. There are five color options for smooth (relatively solid) colored pavers: black, terra cotta, forest green, stone beige and teak brown. They are also available as speckled pavers in varying degrees of speckling. These come in five basic colors that are very similar to the smooth options.
Downsides for CushionWalk and other recycled rubber products are hard to find. Shock-absorbent, noise-reducing, recycled, LEED-contributing... where's the problem? If there's any reason for suspicion, it is durability, which is unproven. Although we know that rubber is long-lasting, which is just one good reason to keep it out of landfills. But that doesn't mean that rubber pavers will hold together enough to compete with concrete. Only time will tell. As for CushionWalk pavers, DINOFLEX warranties them for five years.
