Solar-Powered Smart Controller for Home Irrigation

Solar-Powered Smart Controller for Home Irrigation

What’s better than having your sprinkler system on a timer? Having your irrigation system operated by a solar-powered smart controller. The LEIT Controller by DIG Corporation is just such a device.

LEIT stands for “light-energized irrigation technology,” and DIG has three controllers using this system: the LEIT 4000, LEIT X and the LEIT XRC. The controllers each have varying features appropriate for different levels of use. The LEIT 4000 is most suitable for residential use, as it can program four to eight zones of irrigation, while the others are able to handle much larger zones.
The main features and benefits of the LEIT Controller are:
  • Can be installed at any desired location
  • Programmable for 12 independent water schedules, for each of four to eight zones
  • Utilizes photovoltaic solar technology for all power the device needs
  • LEED credit opportunities
  • Will operate day or night, in any type of weather
  • 80 percent of the materials used in this product can be reused/recycled
  • Programming selections allow for rain delays and monthly budgeting
  • Liquid crystal display lets you interact with the device easily
  • Programming has menus for easy understanding/use and is bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Includes lightning protection
  • Can assign sensors for each irrigation station for rain, moisture or frost
  • Vandal-resistant, all-enclosed system with password protection for programming security and to aid in the prevention of programming errors
  • Made in the USA (California, to be exact)

Not only can you program the LEIT Controller, but the device is also capable of producing status reports for the current and past months of usage. This capability allows the user to perform an analysis of the system and its programming to make better decisions and improve performance.
