Sustainable Inspiration with Mary Ginn

Ms. Ginn has managed a business in Architectural Sustainable Design for the last 30 years. Her design philosophy starts with passive solar and high insulation, then considers how to efficiently manage the remaining energy and living requirements according to the lifestyle of her clients and the area the structure is to be placed. Finally! An LED Replacement for Common 60-Watt Light Bulbs

In a breakthrough that has been years in the making, Philips has recently unveiled the world’s first LED replacement for the 60-watt light bulb—the most commonly used in households across the country. So what does this mean for the everyday consumer?

Most importantly, it means a hefty 80 percent in energy savings and a significant increase in the life of each individual bulb. The new LED 60-watt bulb can last up to 25 times longer while saving up to 32.6 terawatt hours of electricity across the United States each year.
