GreenHomeImprovement is the brainchild of folks well-versed in the modern technologies and challenges of home improvement, with keen interest to improve the resources available for those homeowners who want to go green. The goal of the site is to provide a forum for an ever-growing community of both homeowners and professionals, all with a mind to make our world sustainable. We aim to support homeowners who recognize the importance of sustainable homes, for their health, for the environment and for their own savings. We also wish to provide a platform for green home improvement professionals to network with one another, answer questions and network with homeowners, as well as showcase their work. These pros are the pioneers for the environment on the “home front”.
The site features libraries of information on green professional and product certifications, as well as LEED Home Showcases and peer-to-peer material and product recommendations. New questions and recommendations are posted daily. All the professionals on the site must be certified by one of the recognized green certification systems, such as LEED or NARI, creating a community rich with knowledge and experience.
From the homepage, you can find information based on which room or area of the house it’s related to. By browsing “Ideas for any room”, you can find ways to make both your home and lifestyle healthy and green.
