I believe that we are stewards of the Earth, and as such, we need to treat it right in all we do. Various housing designs, materials (production of, and usage of) and then Construction (impact on site, etc.) play a part in what we believe is part of this stewardship. Just as we do not through trash just anywhere, we try to re-use or re-cycle all that we can, too.
I have researched the best materials for home construction (and other wood based buildings) for over the last 25+ years. I have designed an off-the-grid, fully self-contained home for the Bahamas on one of the outlaying islands where there is no infrastructure most are used to. I am for the Feed-in Tariff so that we will have TRUE incentive to become more self-sufficient with our homes. WHAT IF WE DIDN'T NEED "A GRID"?!!! The technology is there, some is expensive, but others are making it now possible to achieve this goal within monetary reason.
